Special Request From Dr. Jack Wheeler

We close the HFR this week with a request. As you know, my son Brandon is in harm's way, fighting for America against Moslem terrorist evil in Afghanistan. He has asked for your help.

What will mean so much to him is for TTPers to send a "care package" for his men. Here's how to do it.

Go to your local post office and ask for an APO/FPO Flat Rate Box, priority mail label, and custom form.

The box is about 12 inches by 12 inches by 6 inches. Any thing that you can fit into the box is a flat rate no matter how heavy the box is. The price will range between $8-12 depending on where you are sending it from. Delivery time is 2-3 weeks. You will have to fill out a customs form declaring what you are sending and the value.

Here are some suggestions for what Brandon's Marines would like to have:

Beef jerky, tuna pouches (better than cans), energy/protein food bars, nuts, granola, cookies, packets of electrolyte replacement powder, chewing gum, baby wipes, hand sanitizer, toothpaste/brushes, foot powder, socks in various sizes (SmartWool hiking socks, light for summer, are best now), battery fans or other cooling mechanisms, magazines, ziplock bags of various sizes.

Remember, Marines are hungry and thirsty! So go heavy on food, snacks, and drink packets. Anything liquid or could spill should be in a ziplock bag.

Don't put in the box: chocolate, perishables, anything that melts, alcohol, or cash.

But do put in the box stuff for kids in the villages: pens and notebooks, coloring books and crayons, individually wrapped candies, small little toys, small American flags, things they can pass out to the kids.

Address the box to:

1st Lt. Brandon H. Wheeler
2/6 E CO
Unit 76267
FPO AE 09510-6267

You might also consider including a birthday card or letter to Brandon, as August 3rd is his birthday.

And feel free to send more than one box! I want Brandon to know how much TTPers support him and his fellow Marines risking their lives for us. I know I can depend on you. Thank you all so much.
