Prince Alwaleed bin Talal, chairman of Rotana Holding, chaired Rotana's board of directors meeting.

The meeting was attended by Walid Arab Hashem, vice chairman; Fahad Alsukait, CEO Rotana Holding; and Nada Alsugair, board member and executive director, finance and administration, the prince’s private office. The board members and representatives from 21 Century Fox were Gary Davey, executive vice president, programming, Sky Deutschland; and Charlotte Burr, SVP corporate and development, Asia and Middle East, 21 Century Fox.

In addition Turki Alshabanah, president of Rotana TV Channels; Nezar Nagro, president of Rotana Media Services; John Ireland, CFO Rotana Holding; and Marcus Handley, general counsel Rotana Holding; Nahla Nasser Alanbar, private executive assistant to the chairman; and Fahad bin Saad bin Nafel, executive assistant to the chairman, were also present.

During the meeting, the board members discussed Rotana’s achievements and commended the Rotana Group for these achievements. Moreover, the board reviewed and discussed the 2014 strategic plans, the operating and financial budget and discussed latest developments.

Controversy
Opponents of the Park51 project argued that it is "a mosque", claiming that establishing a mosque a few blocks away from Ground Zero would be offensive because the hijackers in the September 11 attacks of 2001 were Islamic terrorists.
