Carly Fiorina Joins Establishment Republicans on Trump: ‘Doesn’t Represent My Party’
by Alex Swoyer7 Jul 2015Washington, DC
Presidential candidate Carly Fiorina says fellow GOP contender Donald Trump “doesn’t represent my party” after his statements on illegal immigration during his formal presidential announcement.

“Donald Trump has said many outrageous things in his career, and I suspect he’s going to continue to say outrageous things,” Fiorina stated. “He doesn’t represent me, and he doesn’t represent my party.”

Since his formal launch speech, Trump has said the media has deliberately distorted his statements.

“Fiorina, the former Hewlett-Packard chief executive, is seeking a place on the Republican debate stage this summer, a key step in gaining recognition in the race for the presidential nomination,” Time reports. “She’ll need to do well enough in national polls to debate her competitors on stage, a feat that could be complicated by Trump’s entry into the race.”

Recent GOP candidate polls show Trump in second place – training only former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush.

“I do think the media is sort of obsessed with him in a way that’s bizarre to me,” Fiorina stated. “There’s a lot going on in the world and everybody keeps asking about Donald Trump.”

Fiorina joins establishment Republicans who have come out against Trump including: former nominee Mitt Romney, Former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush, Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL) 80% and former Texas Gov. Rick Perry.

Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) 96%, former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee and Rep. Trey Gowdy (R-SC) 85% have defended Trump, saying all candidates should be discussing immigration as a 2016 issue.
